First, no Ukraine was never freely part of Russia, it was considered a conquered country. The people of Ukraine have no desire to part of Putin newly reborn Russian Empire.

It is NOT up to you or any other person to decide what country and what people can have a free, independent, Democratically elected form of government.

When the war is over, Ukraine must have elections and Zelensky will no longer be president. As long as the war goes on, he remains in control and getting paid for it. He doesn't want to leave this office. His only hope of hanging on is the war. Clearly he is keeping the war going as a means of taking more money.
