Yet, another billionaire is fleeing the once golden state for greener pastures, in advance of the wealth tax being implemented by the state in order to satiate the greed of leftist politicians. I predict when all is said and done, California's revenue will actually decline as a result of this fiscal experiment.

Billionaire and Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick officially joined the exodus from California, revealing he moved to Austin, Texas, just weeks before a proposed wealth tax could have targeted his estimated $3.6 billion fortune.

"Just to be clear, on December 18, I moved to Texas. I don’t know what’s so specific about December 18, but let’s just say it’s prior to January," Kalanick said in an interview with TPBN.

And he will move there still being the leftist he is with all his money still promoting leftist ideals and agendas trying to turn the once great state of Texas yet more blue as a further carbon copy of the state he fled.

When it comes to CA (or the left coast) being pro-active is not a vice.....That said I bet he voted dem the whole time.
Yup, Bob Ferguson, Washington St. governor, wants a 9.9% tax on billionaires.
Which is a prelude to get a state income tax on all the Washingtonians.
It's a way to get their foot in the door for the taxes to come.
Socialism showing a bit of transparency.

He is a libertarian.

I bet when NYC's Mandami proposed an estate tax on properties of 750K or more Newsome (and the other left coast governors) said; "damn, why didn't I think of that!".

I wonder if the state factors in some amount of people being chased out when they calculate anticipated tax receipts.

Mexifornia has been trading America’s most productive citizens for Mexico’s least productive for decades…This is just more of the same. The people of this filthy shithole can’t and won’t get out of their own way.

You mean like fiscal responsibility, shrinking the govt and liberty?
Well, that’s what they say they’re about. They can say whatever they want, we all know they’ll never get a chance to prove shit.
Remember, Republican’s swear they’re about small non intrusive government, fiscal responsibility and freedom as well.
What’s the libertarian position on immigration these days?

Hmmm…Don’t Leftists hate ICE rounding up cockroaches?
Don’t they want more Mexicans and an open border?
Don’t they want higher taxes?
Don’t they want more free shit?
Don’t leftists love chicks with dicks shitting next to our daughters and competing with them in sports?

Tax increasers never consider human nature when they calculate anticipated receipts. They look at how many people it would affect and assume they will do nothing to avoid the increased burden, publish that number, then proceed to increase spending by even more based on the estimate. Meanwhile, those hit by the new taxes take steps to avoid them and actual revenues fall well short of anticipated, leaving more debt to make up the shortfall. This is why you can't raise enough taxes to address a deficit with these congresscritters in office.

From what I've seen of California governance, it's hard to believe they'd have been smart enough for that.

All 1.7% of them?

This must have been your life for March 16th
My life? Isn’t it a bit early for you to get drunk? Never mind, it 5 o'clock somewhere in the world.
Islam can somehow seize countries with a remarkably small percentage of the population. Look at what they have done to England at 6%.

California would rather lose money than have yucky billionaires paying taxes.

Leftists don't understand incentives.
Economics is beyond them, so no, they never factor that in.
Cuomo was happy to drive out rich New Yorkers.
