For those who don't know, Kirk Douglas stood up to the black listers in Hollywood by hiring Dalton Trumbo. And, in case you don't know who Dalton Trumbo is, he wrote Johnny Got His Gun. If you haven't, its well worth reading although its been out of print forever or longer.

Douglas, btw, is a Russian Jew who had to hide that fact in order to get work.

You listen to people speak and no matter your politics or beliefs you get a sense if they are lying or telling the truth. It doesn't matter if the toads don't like Maher, they know he speaks the truth. And that is what pisses people off about this guy, he isn't arm flailingly lying like Limbaugh or Hannity.
