I concur, I liked clinton which is why i voted for him in his 2nd term. Yeah yeah he lied under oath and cheated on the hillabeast but as president he actually REDUCED OUR DEBT....which most of you know is one of my top sore spots with the last president and congress and even more sore now with this president and congress.

He may have been asleep at the al-quaeda wheel though, not sure on that one.

I went to college under clinton, Things were pretty good. Although at our college the talking point was clinton didn't lie under oath, it just depends on what "your definition of IS is".

Things were good in the late 80's right through the late 90's. Things started coming unhinged economically toward the end of his last year in office but still he didn't run a defecit.

What more can someone like me who's main issue is the national debt ask? Not much I say.

Two things happened during Clinton that lead to a booming economy

1. Internet- As a matter of fact, Al Gore did invent the internet. When most Senators couldn't tell you how to turn on a computer, Gore saw the value of the emerging internet and helped pass legislation that made the internet what it is today. Many wanted to tax it or charge for each transaction much like the phone system. Gore helped to establish the "open" internet we see today

2. Cell Phones- Up until the late 80's, cell phones (car phones) were a toy for the rich. The investments in cell phone infrastructure lead to low cost and wide areas of coverage.

well that may be true but the fact that things do change based on president does suggest something, i think so anyway

I dont know why there is this sudden obsession with Clinton, 9 years after.
Anyway, he was the only president in the 20th century to be impeached. He inherited a booming economy and benefitted from the tech boom. His reckless actions directly led to 9/11 and he left office as a recession started.
Any accomplishment he had, like welfare reform, was a conservative idea.
