Simple common sense dictates that you cannot spend more than you earn forever. Currently, fully half of the budget is directed towards servicing the debt. If we paid off the debt, our taxes could be reduced across the board by half. I have practiced no debt spending in my personal life for 20 years now and I am amazed that I am able to save and still purchase what I desire.
