The Biden administration has revived the so-called “catch and release” system when it comes to dealing with illegal immigrants at the southern border.​

President Biden on Tuesday signed an executive order revoking former President Donald Trump’s ending of the controversial practice — which allows undocumented migrants to remain in the US while awaiting immigration proceedings.​

​

Customs and Border Patrol said the shift in policy was result of three issues — the influx of migrants and children from Central America, Mexico’s refusal to take in families with children under 12, and the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the agency’s detention facilities and transportation capacity, Fox News reported.​

The executive order — part of sweeping changes Biden has already made to immigration policy — only permits Border Patrol to hold an undocumented illegal alien crossing the border up to 72 hours.​

​

“CBP has seen a steady increase in border encounters since April 2020, which, aggravated by COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing guidelines, has caused some facilities to reach maximum safe holding capacity,” CBP public affairs officer Rod Kise told Fox News.​

There are so many asylum seekers piled up at the border and more coming. They are releasing them by the hundreds and guess where they are going to go? He admittedly separated children from their adult companions. It is total chaos at the border, the agents have no idea if they are dealing with a family unit, posers just using the kids for a passport into the country or human traffickers. The kids that are still separated were abandoned. If their families wanted them, they would have come for them. In an article written by Mairead McArdle in the National Review, McArdle writes that biden is bringing back the policy of catch and release due to coronavirus concerns at illegal alien detention centers and the rising numbers of daily apprehended illegal aliens. under catch and release illegals are detained, processed ,given a court date and released into the general population to wait for their court hearings.Under obama these illegal aliens would cross the border illegally then they would look for Border Patrol agents and turn themselves in. they knew they would be release and they would be allowed to continue on their way. the overwhelming majority never showed up for their court hearings. this article states that Border Patrol agents are seeing daily illegal crossings of between 3000-3500 of illegal aliens and the number is increasing. So they are coming from all over the world for joe's blanket amnesty. joe is so concerned about illegal aliens getting infected by covid 19 that he is releasing them so they can go anywhere in the USA . so he is going to give them the vaccine too.
