Biden just called out Big Oil after Chevron’s CEO said Biden is “vilifying” oil companies for calling out their price gouging— Biden said they are “getting their feelings hurt”: “This idea that they don’t have oil to drill and bring up is simply not true.”

No you fuckin' putz, "big oil" does not want to invest in bringing-up said oil due to your fucked in the head anti-fossil fuel policies and I don't blame them a damn bit.

Looks like another in a long line of messaging failures starts at 1400 today.....They can't message their way out of what is coming.

The oil companies earn 5¢ to 10¢ in profit on each gallon of gasoline that they sell us.

Government takes up to $1.81 in taxes on each gallon.

It is hypocritical for government to accuse the oil companies of price gouging. We're being screwed, but it's not the oil companies that are doing it.
Excellent point. I had a similar response. The oil companies incur tremendous risk and cost just to get that “obscene profit” of $0.05 per gallon. The government incurs no cost, no risk and look how much they are taking.

The price of a gallon of gas has doubled since June 2020.

Suspending the federal gas tax isn't a fix — it’s a gimmick.

If the Vegetable is gonna talk oil prices again he must have someone new to blame. Who will it be today? Bigfoot?

The notion that the reason our oil refining capacity is what it is because "Big Oil" just wont turn the magic gas making machines on is comical. People have been jumping up and down screaming that we need to build new refineries and increase our capacity to refine crude oil into gas for decades, and now that it's a problem the same people who fought against those refineries being built and worked to diminish our capacity are trying to point the finger at those same people who said we need to increase it.

Infrastructure and less regulations are necessary. Can we get leadership in place that won’t put the whims of Environmental extremists who are pushing for clean energy alternatives that are not mature enough to replace oil without compromising the economy?

Progs cause so many problems and then deliver a partial cure.

Often no cure at all, or even sonething to make things worse. I know some Democraps have been proposing a “windfall profits tax” on the oil companies. Does anyone seriously believe that imposing more costs on the producers of a product will result in lower costs for the consumer?

This is stupid. The US has no jurisdiction over OPEC. Do note their price per barrel is always slightly less than WTI or Brent.
OPEC can collude and fix prices all they want. Sanders is wrong when he says it’s illegal. What the US can do is push policy in the market to influence a price drop by OPEC. Happens in commercial enterprise all the time.

You mean increase production?
