They are, however, in the position that Biden wants every other car company to be in. As such, it would be good to have them onboard, from the onset, if only in an advisory role, and then taking on a more operational role as auto makers need to retool for electric vehicles. Tesla can show them how to do that. Nothing is done perfectly the first time in manufacturing, and it would surprise no one if Ford, GM and Chrysler hit bumps along the way. The presence of Tesla could mitigate the impact of those bumps...
