The classified documents I handled were in a factory that had a guard force, in a room without windows that had alarms in the ceiling and a locked door that required a badge and and a combination to enter. You had to be on a list posted by the door and if not your were escorted while in the room. When no one was in that room the documents were locked in a five drawer file cabinets secured by a bar and an expensive combination lock. After everyone had left a guard would come in to check and see if any classified documents were left out and insure every safe was locked. If something was wrong the last person to leave the area was considered responsible.

The information I handled was at a much lower level of classification than what I hear was rumored to have been found in one of Joe’s office closets.

It does seem only logical to me that taking classified documents out of a secure area and moving them to an insecure area would violate a number of laws. I do believe if I had taken just one classified document home and had been caught my ass would have been grass and some prosecutor would have had a good time putting me away in prison for a lengthy stay along with a fine I couldn’t pay.

We all know a sitting president has the right to declassify any damn thing he wants to declassify.
We also know the VP doesnt have that right.
