Best musician we lost too soon

Have to agree with RadiomanATL's pick of SRV.

On a personal note I'd add Jerry Garcia. Yeah, I know he had a long and briefly extended life. However, I gave up tickets to see the Dead on one of their last tours and so never got to see them (with JG) as he died soon after. Just naively assumed they were going to be around forever.

Saw B.B. King the next chance I got so that would not happen again. Seen Bob Dylan five times for the same reason though just 3 times were after Jerry's death.

Cool topic! :clap2: Not morbid at all.

Being raised a WASP female in the 60's/70's in Minnesota? This is how I found out B.B. King existed.

He was David Cassidy's favorite performer.

I shit you not. I never heard anything but pop and rock until I went to basic training. Talk about your wake-up calls!

"Disco era" Dead. lol - don't care, I like it.

The first two cassette tapes I bought for my "boom box" were the Bee Gee's Greatest hits and Lionel Richie Dancin' on the Ceiling. (purchased at a gas station) LOL We all gotta start somewhere right?

Kurt Cobain was a tough loss. (though some of you folks are making pushing 40 seem young)

Riding around in my parents old VW Super Bug the 8 track was always blasting Neil Diamond, Bee Gees, Blondie and whoever sang "One Eyed One Horned Flying Purple People Eater" (at little bro's constant request).

Another I never heard of, Wiki showed me he died at 26. Just missed the club. Sounds a bit vocally like John Denver.

ahh.. yes, I never thought about the similarities there. Definitely.

Another that we lost too soon.

Funny, when he was young and popular, I could barely stand him. Give me a decade or two, and I'm actually saddened by his passing.
