I think it is genuinely interesting that so many Republican Trump voters as well as liberals and progressives and independents — indeed almost all of us — find these memes of Bernie Sanders amusing and even ... ENDEARING.

Why do you think that is so?

Sanders is a likable person I and many others don’t agree with his politics but he does seem to be a nice guy at least in the public we have no idea what any of these politicians are like behind closed doors with no cameras on them.

Yep, Bernie is legit. Even though I can't stand his policies, he lets you know where he stands, he is very committed to his wacky Socialist ideology, and he is very forthcoming about it.

It's called integrity.

. . . the thing Trump voters like about Bernie? Is the same sort of election rigging that has been done to Trump, was done to Bernie, and in this meme, you see it in his demeanor.

I have several friends that love Bernie and know that the DNC and the ruling cabal has rigged it against him twice now. Why they are oblivious about them doing the same to Trump in the general? Cognitive bias I can only assume.

Now Trump folks know how Bernie fans feel.

This look on Bernie says it all. It is that look of, "This whole thing is a farce, and probably never would have been necessary if I had been the candidate."

Most independents, and hell, a lot of conservatives would tell you that Bernie has more integrity than Trump.

Are there times when Bernie's marriage was boring, or had hard times? I have no doubt. But he did what folks with integrity do, he stuck it out till the end. . . because that is what folks with REAL integrity do. The same could never be said of Trump. If a person is honest, they KNOW Bernie has more integrity.

Now, keeping his mouth shut is simply an act of self-preservation, and knowing, he can do more good for his values and the things he cares about IN the corrupt system, than by shouting at it from the outside.

I had even considered voting Bernie, knowing full well, that the House and Senate would keep his commie proclivities in check. . . as he has more integrity than any candidate we have had since Reagan.

He also distanced himself from the very lawyers that took the DNC to task for rigging the nominating process against him, and he took bribes to stay silent.

. . . but then, I could give you a dozen different ways Trump is a sleaze ball, hypocrit, lacking integrity as well. Unless you believe all that crap those QAnon wackos tell you about why he took into his counsel folks like Pompeo or Bolton?

We could go tit for tatt on that all day.

It is a matter of these folks satisfying their stake holders in order to stay in their good graces, it is a matter of degrees. No one can play that game in D.C. and really be that clean, or go very far.

Hell, if they could, Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich would have been president.

You may not agree with Bernie Sanders on many issues. Most people don’t. But Bernie has more “integrity” than almost anybody in the Senate, or national politics, especially considering how long he has served. He has to thread a narrow needle functioning as a socialist in the Democratic Party, but he tells it like it is about corporations and Wall Street.

Bernie is correct to denounce Trump and seek Trump’s conviction for encouraging his own people waving his own banners to participate in what became a violent invasion of Congress — to keep himself illegally in office. Trump was Commander-in-chief and instead of defending Congress as was his sacred duty, he did nothing. Trump lied to and incited his lunatic supporters for months after he clearly lost the election. It was a pathetic “insurrection” alright, but the violence was severe, a cop was killed and Senators or Congressmen could easily have been wounded, kidnapped or murdered. It might even have led to Civil War and the death of our Republic. Thankfully the Joint Chiefs had already made clear where they stood and Trump did not in the end dare to try to use his Commander-in-Chief position to declare martial law.
