I own the Chefs choice knife sharpener. I am able to sharpen knives easily. This video does not recommend that sharpener but comes up with what seems to be good advice. I looked at my blades using magnification. I purchased mine without looking at YouTube. Honestly using my sharpener sure beats not sharpening my knives. This video has good tips.

OP, I picked-up a couple of knives today.....A 70s era Buck 105 and an 80s era ArcLite Cuda.

$25.00 for both.

I'll work them up tonight.

My son uses unsharpened knives all day long.
Why didn't you teach him how to sharpen a knife?

When I was a kid one of my jobs was to keep my dad's shinning knives and my mom's kitchen knives sharp.

Then again it came easy for me because my granddad sharpened knives and set/sharpened saw blades as a side-gig. He also made kitchen knives out of old worn-out sawmill blades.....I still use them.

His Mom divorced me when he was a teen. At that time I enjoyed sharpening our knives.

I get it, nothing like the calm you get sharpening knives.

LOL.....I remember evening at hunt camp I was touching up a couple knives for the "sharpening impaired", finshed-up, put the stones away, and this guy comes out with a case with one of those sharpening gismos with the rods in it.

He took some time to set it up and finally got a decent edge on his hunting knife but talk about bored to tears.....It's not a spectator's sport. ;)

I need some slave labor to do the serrated ones.
