That's not true anymore...40 years ago it was true but not any longer.

Today only about 10% of marriages end in divorce because people aren't getting married.

Now those breaking up that are living together without a marriage certificate....

About 90-95% of those relationships end inside of 5 years. And it feels no different from a divorce. Many having dozens of partners to the point they no sooner move in then they are forming an exit strategy.

Once the honeymoon period is over, it becomes more of an agreed partnership. Add so.e kids and bills and stress and it can get tough.

Yes alot less people are foregoing getting married overall. And yes most living together without being married dont last. In general it seems long term relationships are dwindling. There are many couples living together, having a kid, and still not getting married. We have 2 of those in my wifes family. One couple has 2 kids, and she kept her maiden name and they refuse to get married. Oh well.
