I'm gonna call BS on this post on Twitter. Not that he isn't trying to prove something but that his basic understanding of what a Patriot missile defense system looks like and how it operates is really missing.

The various pieces of a Patriot system are many kilometers apart. They aren't exactly the most mobile devices either. The parts that matter are not seen but the inexpensive parts that are rather crude and dumb are visible. Easily replaced too if not repaired.

The launcher isn't more difficult than a 4th of July bottle rocket launch tube. The radar is an integrated system....(antennae are easily replaced) the "brains"? Nobody seen them yet. And likely we won't.

What I'm saying is that where the missiles being staged at the airport is a possibility.... and if they hit the launch tubes they really didn't hit anything of value especially AFTER all the missiles in it were launched. It's just a bunch of pipes welded to a frame. There might be some hydraulic lines and pistons on it to give it pizzazz....but it's not that necessary. I could put it together from what I've understood about it. (The electrical part of the launch tubes....I am an electrician not a welder) It's just some motor controls but I'm sure they use electronics instead....it's fancier and more money. But some electronics are more reliable than IC switches. (Moving parts vs solid state)

Either way....if it was just the launch tube system that got destroyed they didn't destroy much. 6" or 8" steel pipe and some angle iron and you are good to go. Just a few other gizmos and that's about it.

Which is: Before and after pics of an airfield that had some equipment placed, but low res so all you know is something was put there.

And a scrawled in MS paintbrush google map of the area, but no video frames to compare the "tall buildings" or whatever he thinks he is pointing out.

The whole idea of geolocation is to use the video or picture and compare features against a reference. He shows a "camera location" but doesn't show the image from the camera that he is "locating".

No pics of craters or destroyed equipment, and no pics of the explosion he is saying happened there.

chris_759 has another post on his feed, where he claims a pic that was published of a claimed missile shootdown is the same pic that was published earlier of the TB2 they shot down. He puts them side-by-side. The aren't even the same pic, the buildings are completely different! One is a published image and the other is a screen cap from a video, with a watermark and who knows what other manipulations. The only thing they have in common is they are both air defense in operation.

Staging the missiles ready to fire at the airport outside of Kiev is not a bad idea or strategically horrible either.

There are possibilities elsewhere but....it's not important.

But there's also a possibility that it was another anti missile system staged at the airport. You do bring up a good point about a lack of good photographs.

The bloggers getting arrested for publishing military secrets....they knew what they were doing when they did it. So I'm not gonna say that they are innocent or anything like that. Operational Security is taken very seriously by Ukraine.

I don't get why there is a reason at all to discuss Russian claims about the Patriot system. The Russians are known for their numerous false claims about HIMARS'es, Western tanks etc. It is now the Patriots' turn.
