With four minutes left in the second period, Finland leads Slovakia 2 to 0. This pleases me and my daughter. Two of the Finns are Kraken.

Seattle's Eeli Tolvanen and the man who's name is the most fun to say in all of hockey, Kaapo Kakko.

Team USA never got to play against Finland as they were in a different bracket. But we beat the living shit out of Slovakia. At one point, after being robbed of a goal by the refs, Team USA scored two goals in 19 seconds.

The Slovak coach pulled out the goaltender and put in his backup. Something you almost never see.

Slovakia just scored with about a minute left in the period. It was one of those moments in slow motion when you know what is about to happen and you actually have time to feel dread.

Second period is over.

2-1.

My man Kaapo Kakko just scored!

4 to 1 Finland v Slovakia. 10 minutes left in the game.

Slovakia gambled with an empty net and paid the price.

The score is now 5 to 1.

I'm more interested in the hockey game that comes on at 5:30 in the morning with
the US and Canada.
I think it is 5:10 am, not 5:30.

I am also more interested in that game, but I still want to see who wins the Bronze.

Plus, two Kraken on the Finnish team.

Does it really matter? It the honky Olympics with a smattering of others.

Another score by Finland on an empty net.

Game. 6-1.

Finland takes the Bronze.

A rich country beating on a poor country. Same old, same old. My father an uncle and both sets of grandparents were born in Slovakia. My father was able to leave when he was 4 years old and the only thing he remembered was living in a home with dirt floors.

Is Slovakia a "poor country"? They are small but by no means poor.

I recognize the skill and athleticism of hockey players. I never played it and to me it is boring to watch. I guess the US won the gold, Yay!

Slovakia has 7 NHL players on their Olympics team.
