Bassists

When I was starting out on bass way back when I was a Freshman in High School (1982), I got heavy into Hall & Oates. Both of the musicians in this video, guitarist GE Smith and Bassist Tom "T-Bone" Wolk were part of the band at that time as H&O gained immense commercial success in the 1980s. Wolk was one of my earliest influences on bass. His lines are forever emblazened on Hall & Oates albums beginning with H20 (John Siegler recorded the "Private Eyes" album even though Wolk was on the videos).
In addition to H&O and the SNL band during the late 80s-early 90s. Wolk worked with Carly Simon, Jellyfish, Squeeze, and Billy Joel.

It doesn't surprise me that no one here is familiar with one of the most legendary master bassists of all time. He has played with all the giants including Herbie Hancock, Jean Luc-Ponty, Santana, the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Aretha Franklin, Lenny White, Earl Klugh, Michael Walden, Eddie Harris, Sting, Roger Daltrey and many others. He got his start as a teenager playing with Michael Walden (who produced Whitney Houston) at a high school in Jamaica Queens in a small band which eventually merged with John McLaughlin to form the Mahavishnu Orchestra playing with the London Symphony Orchestra, Visions of the Emerald Beyond, and Inner Worlds.

BTW, the woman singing is Chick Corea's wife:

He now teaches bass theory:
