so the base change is previously only they or their family members could return the ballot for them. honestly who cares. put it in the mail and get it postmarked before the deadline and go.

however, what is "snuck" in towards the end i bolded. they changed it so someone working for the dems (or the repubs) can now gather up your votes and take them in for you. you tell me, how can 250k people *not* be able to turn in their ballots via putting it in their own mailbox and flipping the flag up, or giving it to their family members to drop off on their way to work?

and why would you make it legal for someone working for the campaign to just take thousands of unquestioned votes in to be counted *after* the election is over?

they do list it saying it needs to be done *before* the end of voting but this is also interesting:

so the base change is previously only they or their family members could return the ballot for them. honestly who cares. put it in the mail and get it postmarked before the deadline and go.

however, what is "snuck" in towards the end i bolded. they changed it so someone working for the dems (or the repubs) can now gather up your votes and take them in for you. you tell me, how can 250k people *not* be able to turn in their ballots via putting it in their own mailbox and flipping the flag up, or giving it to their family members to drop off on their way to work?

and why would you make it legal for someone working for the campaign to just take thousands of unquestioned votes in to be counted *after* the election is over?

they do list it saying it needs to be done *before* the end of voting but this is also interesting:

i put it in the mail, it's postmarked. i give it to a democratic official, they just take it in for them. i don't see a validation process for this "process".

I have often wondered if there is a legit reason to limit voting to a single day. I am sure it made sense when our total population was less than that of NY City now, but it seems as we grow that is less and less the way to go.

there seem to be a lot of things that need to change in our voting process. the people who would fight it are likely the ones who've found the best way to game the current system.

paper ballots need to go away and i *do* feel you need to register to vote and be given a voter id to use when casting your ballot. 1 vote per ID. ID's need to be verified and updated as people move / change to eliminate people still listed in places they used to live.

In florida and Georgia they were CREATED after election day. In Cal who knows, anything is possible in the land of fruits and nuts.
