with anti war protestors etc. Now its 1st and 4th amendment issues thanks to the tech giants.

Not to say facebook and Amazon and tech doesn't present privacy issues ….

But Eagle, individual content posting (or even professionally made content sent to mult social media users who are identified by algorithms) is not a free speech issue. Horace Greeley and Randolph Hearst limited and even created false news for their newspapers.

As bad as facebook is, it does not create the content. And it does allow the campaigns to freely use the medium.

And we never had any privacy right to prevent any private individual/corp to sell the names of people who bought products.

However, it is interesting and possibly concerning that the govt is going to use social media to alert individuals they have corvid19 exposure. I think that might have non-constitutional privacy issues. Like the IRS disclosing information

For one we are exercising free speech here on this platform. Also expression of opinion (short of yelling fire in a crowed theatre or advocating violence of any sort and such) is covered by the 1st amendment. As for newspapers they are subject to libel (as are individuals) . Their editorials are free speech, there reporting can be disputed at times depending on the situation. What the tech giants are trying to do is limit opinion to their liking. Does not always work however.

We are exercising free speech on this platform, and the mods can, and do, rather randomly control content. But they may legally do that because a. they literally own the message board and b. they are not a governmental body.

I'm not blind the issue of censorship by private actors, but it's simply NOT a constitutional issue.
