I think she was going through a lot of things. This shouldn't be a politicized issue, and in general no one should be mocking this woman or throwing salt in the wound. For some on the Right, imagine if she and her family was white. She had her demons, tried committing suicide before, and lost her unborn child. She was also unemployed, and I know all too well how that sense of despair feels. It's just sad all around, and is a complicated issue that shouldn't be handled with hammers by those on both sides.

It's politicized because she's black and lately that's the fashion.

I feel sorry for the parents and family. I'm sure to some degree they knew she was suicidal. Unfortunately in the state of mind the family is in now some lawyer or other person convinced them her death was other than the truth. Lets face it, murder is easier to accept than suicide. It' s easier for someone to say "this person was taken from us" than "this person took themselves from us."

My sympathies to the family I hope they get some peace knowing it was throughly checked out.

Her death was absolutely the fault of the police. The officer, rather than try to deescalate the situation as he is trained to, escalated it and put her in a cell. He should feel completely responsible for her death. Especially because she had a history of suicidal thoughts over the death of a child last year and told them about it.
