Australia bans social media accounts for everyone under 16 years of age.

I turned my idiot box on earlier this morning and the Fox News tslking head had some other talking head on and they were talkign about this.

The Fox News talking head told the other talking head that she's all for it and that it's more convenient because now she can just say ''the government is the bad guy here, not me.''

The other talking head said I think the U.S. should follow suit.

They were all shits n giggles about adopting the policy.

Then I turned off my idiot box.

Going back to what sparky appropriately asked previously in the discussion, what they're effectively saying is that you must provide paperz pleez in order to create a ''social media'' platform on the world wide web.

So, then, if you're, say 65, and don't have a social media account, then you have to provide the platform your paperz pleez to prove you aren't a minor.

So that;s effectively everyone who signs up for a ''social media'' account.

You know, it takes a village............................

Modernized American ''conservatives'' would be the primary group who would want to adopt and implement this model in America. They would be it's loudest voice of approval.

It's because so many who adopt the title ''conservative'' do not understand what it means to actually be conservative, collectively speaking. Not even a little bit.

Here's a clip of that Fox News sales pitch for government to dicatate so-called ''social media'' access that I mentioned earlier...

Fox News supposedly bills itself as the so-called ''conservative'' channel.

If this were to be invoked in America, it would be straight up fascism by definition.

.

Fox stopped being conservative a long time ago.

.

There's another couple of talking heads on there now, selling this really hard again.

They seem to be dedicating a lot of airtime to promoting the model.

In ths particular skit, the platform featured President elect Trump's Surgeon General appointment promoting a ban on social media for unverified/unapproved applicants (which is literally what this would do) in America. Though they are referring to the control group as ''teens.'' Because, again...it's always for the childrens, isn't it?

This, of course, omits by design any dialogue fom the mainstream narrative regarding more fundamental outliers such as the proper role of government.

I haven't watched it in a long time, so this is news to me.

Plants, maybe?

Yeah, I think this is definitely a pretext for ushering in the Digital ID for everyone.

If they're selling it to Republicans, you know that this is something that is in the works for Americans. Dems usually always go along with authoritarian laws, so they don't have to sell it to them, they have to sell it to everyone else. If this same conversation was had by talking heads on CNN, you know conservatives would be against it... but because it's on Fox, there's not going to be that same knee-jerk opposition. In fact, unpopular as this view may be, I say that's why all of the Orwellian authoritarian plans are being rolled out by people like Trump, Elon, etc, so that conservatives will accept the Technocratic police state that the PTSB have in store.... because by golly, if someone on "our side" is for it, it must be a good thing!

I think it's more complex than just the whole digital ID thing, but agreed otherwise with your other points.

For reference...

''I want everybody’s name!"

Nikki Haley wants your drivers license if you have something to say in America, and choose you use so'called ''social media'' to do so, so...paperz pleez...

While they may frame any adoption of the policy in America as the typical ''it's for the childrens'' narrative, rest assured that what is referenced there is what it's truly about.

I'm still trying to work out how it's going to work and I live here (in Oz). I will be pretty ticked off if the little grandkids can't say "Hello" to Grandpa when I use that facebook thingy.
