I suppose you're somehow going to try to use this as an argument against voter ID laws, right?
Unless voter ID is issued for free and the cost is moved to the government, then voter ID is a "tax" that some may not be able to afford. A voting tax is unconstitutional.
Besides, we know there were poor people born at home under a midwife who never got a birth certificate. It's happened in the Rural South and Appalachia among both whites and blacks.
It doesn't matter anyway. Republicans in several states have said they are changing the laws, reducing the number of polling places, reducing early voting and other tactics to change the outcome of elections. ID is the least of what they are doing. And they have admitted it.
For USMB Republicans to try to deflect by only talking about ID only shows what kind of people they are. And we don't call those types of people "good Americans". We call the the "Right Wingnut Taliban".
