Unless voter ID is issued for free and the cost is moved to the government, then voter ID is a "tax" that some may not be able to afford. A voting tax is unconstitutional.

Besides, we know there were poor people born at home under a midwife who never got a birth certificate. It's happened in the Rural South and Appalachia among both whites and blacks.

It doesn't matter anyway. Republicans in several states have said they are changing the laws, reducing the number of polling places, reducing early voting and other tactics to change the outcome of elections. ID is the least of what they are doing. And they have admitted it.

For USMB Republicans to try to deflect by only talking about ID only shows what kind of people they are. And we don't call those types of people "good Americans". We call the the "Right Wingnut Taliban".

None of ya'll read the article did you? Most of the ballots he cast were absentee and he DID show an ID at one point for one of the votes he cast.

Voter ID laws would not have stopped his fraud.

If I am going to be required to show an ID that's fine... but then the taxpayers are going to pay the fee for it.. in that respect I would be fine with it. For those that don't have drivers licenses, the taxpayers will have to pay for the processing fees. Can't have it both ways.

You know what? I think it will be great when everyone walking into a polling place can scan their photo Social Security card with thumb imprint...better yet, place their thumbprint on the electronic pollbook to get their ballot...once everyone of voting age that is eligible to vote, has one.

When fewer people will be disenfranchised than there is fraud that will be stopped by having this ID requirement, I will get behind it 100%.

He used a combination of absentee ballots, multiple addresses, and ID.

In the presidential election, Monroe cast an in-person absentee ballot in Shorewood on Nov. 1 and drove a rental car to Lebanon, Ind., where he showed his Indiana driver's license to vote in person on election day, Nov. 6, the complaint charges. Monroe owns a house there, according to the complaint.

The complaint says investigators went as far as testing absentee ballot envelopes, supposedly sent by other people, to find only Monroe's DNA, and no DNA of the voters allegedly casting the votes.

Thank God Voter ID stopped him!
