Now it's Christianity's turn to be mocked by the Palestinian Authority.

While it's PA policy to insult, mock and misrepresent Jewish tradition and Jewish history in the land of Israel whenever possible, this week it was Christian traditions' turn to be insulted and denied by the PA.

In the words of the official PA daily columnist, Christian traditions of the Holy Sepulcher and the Holy Grail are "nonsense," because Jesus doesn't belong to Christian tradition but belongs to the Palestinians.

No self-respecting Jew of 2,000 years ago would ever have referred to his country as "Palestine" (Palestina).

That name was imposed upon the region by its Roman invader-conquerors.

Judea? Yes. Samaria? Yes. Israel? Yes. Kingdom of David? Yes. Palestine? Not a snowball's chance-in-hell.

Yes. Arabs are from Arabia and Jews are from Judea.

Better to be mocked, than shelled I would guess. :dunno:

The Koran does speak of Christ. But, not as the Messiah, Son of God, The Lord of Lord's and so on. Muslims teach he was like Mohammad, a prophet only. Merely a prophet. Well, the Sanhedrin, known as the Great Synagogue from Ezra's time, stated that prophets were "MERELY" messengers and that the Sanhedrin were the most important people as they were gifted to interpret and teach the prophet's messages. So, both Muslims and Jews both put prophets at a lower point than their great Imams and Rabbis. And, this is why Muslims put Mohammed at the same level or higher than Christ. Both are wrong about Christ and about prophets. And, are full of themselves as this knucklehead is.

Muslims teach, Muhammad will rise from the dead 😂 😂
and Jesus will be under him...

They also teach that Muhammad had a dream...
And in his dream, so he says, he suddenly "was" in Jerusalem ..in his DREAM.
That is the only "connection" they have to Jews' historic capital.

Jesus Christ was a Jewish Rabbi and will always be a Jewish Rabbi.
One who taught a great many Non-Jewish lessons and principles.

One who embraced Gentiles as equals in the eyes of the Deity and therefore abandoned traditional Jewish exclusivity.

One who was rejected and denounced and given-over to be killed by the Jewish Elites (and much of the Mob) of His times.

One who "outgrew" his Jewish-ness and who is no longer considered Jewish by most of his followers - past and present.

Canaan, Yes. Philistia, Yes. And where was Jesus born and where was Joseph from. The Roman province of PALESTINE.

Canaan, Yes. Philistia, Yes.
But Palestine, no.

(Philistines were a different nation. Extinct. Unrelated. Nor was Jerusalem in "phillistine.." lol).

Why do you think even the OT never mentioned this word?

I'm quite aware what a non religious so called "scholar" wrote nonesense and Arabists in Wikipedia rely on him.

Well damn, I guess Moses and all his followers weren't Jews because they are never called that in the Old Testament. They were Israelites or Hebrew.

Both set after the formation of the Kingdom of Judah. That is when the term "Jew" is first used. Moses was not a Jew because no such term existed in his day.

The Bible begs to differ. Jesus never "outgrew" His Jewishness. He will return to the Mt. of Olives to champion the Jewish cause as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. He will take up residence in Jerusalem, and in time, Heaven itself will descend on Jerusalem and God will reside with man.

Rev. 21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them."

Yes. So what?

But you said there was no mention of Jew in OT.

What do YOU mean by Jew? You are making no sense.
The same: Hebrews/Israelites/Jews

Indeed, the Jews were first referred to as Hebrews/Israelites, since post Judea kingdom they are called primarily Jews and also Israelites. (See for example in 2 chronicles 6:24: "your people Israel"). It is because the dominant tribe was Judah. Today Jews are also called am-Israel. Am means nation.
(Not to be confused with the "state of Israel" which only 80% are Jews).

In Italian for instance [stemming from Roman history], Jews are called EBREI. In many Latin countries, Jews are [also] called Israelitas.
