Ashlii receives Military Honors

Hertling NEVER had a combat posting. None of his Bronze Stars have the V for Valor designation which means they were awards for administrative action, NOT combat. "
The Bronze Star Medal (BSM) is a United States Armed Forces decoration awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces for either heroic achievement, heroic service, meritorious achievement, or meritorious service in a combat zone.

When the medal is awarded by the Army, Air Force, or Space Force for acts of valor in combat, the "V" device is authorized for wear on the medal. When the medal is awarded by the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard for acts of valor or meritorious service in combat, the Combat "V" is authorized for wear on the medal." He was the S-3 (operations officer) for the 1st Cav during Desert Storm when he was supposedly wounded in combat. An S-3 works in the headquarters and would never be in combat. There is no citation for the Purple Heart since it is an administrative award and the citation for his Combat Action badge is not posted anywhere, I can find it. Apparently, the Combat Action badge is another administratively awarded badge that does not need a citation for the award. As the Division S-3 Hertling would be in the position to award himself both medals.
Hertling is a longtime democratic activist and has written an article in Politico in 2018 claiming Russian interference in the 2016 election and was appointed by Obama to several prestigious posts. In other words, he is a dependable democratic political hack.

Trump wasn't a draft dodger. He had an easily diagnosed condition that precluded service. A simple Xray shows bone spurs. Your hero Obama never bothered to serve even though he could have done so in complete safety in peacetime and Biden faked asthma even though he played football in high school and college.
That's the cop out, have you ever seen the Xrays? Hell no. How many draft deferments did Pres Obama have again? Biden is in the same boat with Trump, what's your point?

Any officer above full bird colonel (captain in the navy) is a political animal and to get there in peacetime he/she has to have an impeccable record with no false steps. That means he/she never states an opinion, takes any actions contrary to the current social standards of the president or the Pentagon and never actually does anything that could possibly go wrong. We haven't had a wartime general since 1954; they've all been peacetime generals; what we used to call pampered pentagon princes' when I was on active duty.
Did we have wartime Generals during Panama and the 2 Gulf Wars or were those just training exercises.

Obama wasn't subject to the draft, but he still could have served his country, instead, he became a neighborhood organizer to further his political career. The draft board would have seen the Xrays before granting a deferment. Asthma doesn't have any clinical effects that can be shown so the draft board took Biden's doctor's word for the condition.

Nope and Panama was a massive screwup and the only general worth anything in either Gulf War was Schwarzkopf. It takes a couple of years of wartime to get rid of the peacetime political generals. this is true of all armies, not just the US Army. In Panama and both Gulf Wars we had such a preponderance of force that no general could screw things up. If you look at WWII, with the exception of Douglas MacArthur, who proves my point, none of the wartime leaders were more than bird colonels prior to 1940. Every other peacetime general was either sacked or transferred to places pushing paper or recruits where they couldn't screw up fighting the war.

A lot of folks could have served this country but didn't. Now being drafted and hiding is totally different than just not serving. Money will get you out of anything, you aren't that damn dumb. Again, BIDEN is in the same coward boat Trump is on.

Now Schwarzkof fought the war single handed. That is a spit in the face to all of us who served. Tell you what unless you have walked the walk, you damn sure can't talk the talk.

Yes I did, three years during Vietnam, three years in the active reserves and nearly three years after that having to take a medical discharge. I paid my dues, unlike you.
I served 8yrs ACTIVE DUTY, Panama and the 1st Gulf War. What the hell is active reserves? I am also a disabled veteran, so I am pretty DAMN sure I paid my dues.

Huge difference. Trump is a good hard-working president and Biden was not.

It you are actually a vet, you know what the active reserves are and the difference between them and the inactive reserves.

15th post
Active reserves are usually the folks who never served active duty.
Nope, Active reserve units are a mix of obligated (no active service) personnel who are serving under contract and non-obligated personnel (those who have completed their service contacts (either active duty or reserve) and are members by choice and can quit at any time. The Civil Affairs Unit I was in, was about 70% non-obligated and 30% obligated.
