Dante is of the opinion that we here need a thread that centers on the known facts in the case of the alleged "shooter" of Charlie Kirk. This thread has been started on the "Current Events" Board, rather than the "Law and Justice System" Board, because it is not about any legal arguments, but a "Depository" of the facts known as they are presented to the public.

‬Utah's Governor Spencer Cox (R) has said over the weekend that Tyler Robinson, 22, has not confessed to authorities or cooperated with the investigation since he turned himself in on Thursday night.

So what we know for a fact - so far - is that a 22 year old young man "Tyler Robinson" has turned himself in, because he was named as a suspect, and as a person of interest. He is now classified as a "SUSPECT," as the "alleged shooter." This young man has not now confessed to any crime, and he is not cooperating with any authorities.

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) said over the weekend that Tyler Robinson, 22, has not confessed to authorities or cooperated with the investigation since he turned himself in on Thursday night.

The killing of Kirk, a divisive figure and close ally of President Donald Trump, during a public appearance at a Utah university Wednesday sent shock waves across the nation. Vice President JD Vance said on X that he will host the “Charlie Kirk Show” on Monday afternoon as a tribute.

The suspect is to be formally charged in a court appearance Tuesday

Robinson is set to make his first court appearance on Tuesday in Provo, Utah, where authorities are expected to formally charge him.

He was taken into custody after a 33-hour manhunt that included local law enforcement agencies and the FBI. He is being held without bail in a special housing unit at the Utah County Jail on suspicion of aggravated murder, obstruction of justice and discharge of a weapon causing serious bodily harm. The count of aggravated murder could lead to a capital felony charge, which is punishable under Utah law by the death penalty or life in prison.

It is unlikely, he will confess, even with DNA evidence against him, and of course that is his right to not self incriminate. I figure, he definitely did it, and am glad he is off the street, no longer a danger to society. Why did he do it? In the end, I do not care, as it is horrible enough, he chose to do it, that a death penalty, carried out by Utah firing squad at the end of fair trial and failed appeals, would be as good an outcome as we can hope for. Although, it will not bring Kirk back, people that choose this path of violence must know, they will be caught, tried and punished, up to and including, their own life being snuffed out, before they can pollute the gene pool or endanger society further.

Sadly, his family, friends and transgender lover have all turned against him.

Perhaps he will do what Ryan Routh did. Represent himself and give an opening statement of how bad Charlie Kirk was and he had to be killed.

You have a right to remain silent
Anything you say can and will be used against you

With the death penalty on the line, he has nothing to gain by cooperating with the investigation

You don't know anything. I truly wish you would refrain from taking this thread down to where you usually do with threads.

Unlikely? You may be right, but we'll see. We know nothing about his motives, his mindset, what he is all about. All we have is reports of second hand gossip.

I don't believe he (if he is indeed the shooter) is or was a danger to society. Assassins and shooters of individuals are usually not.

Let us assume he is the shooter and that he is found guilty in court and is eventually executed. It will change nothing. That in itself will change nothing. Nothing at all.

The reason the founders went with "representative democracy" and not with "popular democracy."

The mob mentality we see today. Emotions make people stupid. Stupid people in crowds equal death to any sort of republic.

I see no reason to speculate at this point.

You mean like ralling around Trump being guilty 24/7 before a court heard any of his cases?

Or the impeachment proceedings where Trump could not defend himself?

1/3 of democrats wanted Trump to die in Butler but I bet all of those people want the shooter released.

Was the shooter of John Lennon a danger to society? Shooters who target individuals are not the same as mass shooters or serial shooters :auiqs.jpg:

Who gives a flying F bomb!!! What am I, Nostradamus? No? Neither are you.

He took a life, and now he must give up his own idiot.

End of story.

Luckily, the shooter is from a state that understands justice.

See y'all on Tuesday when the young man in question is arraigned

Robinson is set to make his first court appearance on Tuesday in Provo, Utah, where authorities are expected to formally charge him.

There is nothing about his motives that could possibly justify his act, and should have no bearing on prosecution and punishment. I do not see this becoming another OJ style jury nullification verdict without regard to whether he did the deed.

Charlie Kirk was part of society, so yes, the shooter was a danger to society. I will admit, he wasn't like the trump shooter, not only endanger his specific target in his demented attack, but killing and injuring others. But, there is no telling, who in society might be the next target or who, the next shooter. I have no problem whatsoever, with punishing a vicious criminal, blight on society, for their deeds done, knowing it will not prevent other atrocities. But it will punish the shooter for his atrocity, hence the reason the law was written. If found guilty of the act, the shooter should receive the maximum penalty punishment, simply as his personal punishment for the personal crime committed.

The shooter would just target the next person the Left declares a Nazi.

But even if he didn't, he took a man's life as justice must be done.

The blood of Kirk and this young man who has been brainwashed by the Left is all on your hands.

What a totally absurd thing to say!

He had an army of lawyers.

He got McConnell to rig both trials by disallowing any physical or documentary evidence. Which gave the GOP the thin excuse they needed to whitewash him.

Your claim could not be more blatantly false, or ridiculous.

There is no evidence to support your claims (as is so often the case).
