As of July 2025; Farm Bankruptcies in 2025 Surpassed 2024

Pretty lame article doesn’t do any deep dive on the causes.

Just more selective outrage by the left, desperate to find any “bad news” to attack President Trump with.

Nowhere in the article do they illustrate how any Trump policy has caused this.
Well,
That's to be expected....

It never was Trump to begin with. It's been this way since Obama and I think Bush. I cant remember.

DC is a cesspool of corruption and needs a fresh cleaning often. Farm Credit and Small business are areas Trump is and has been weak. His appointment to the dept of Agriculture was also lame....there was another candidate but Trump instead handed it to a political hack to payback political favors. The telegraphing memo was that it was going to continue to be ignored. No cleanup this presidency unless someone shouted out for the shrinking farmer population.

And the small, independent farmer is almost extinct.

We are going to be in big trouble if that happens....
FFA is dying....

Does anyone know the ratios of feed to meat anymore? Like how many pounds of feed it requires to produce a pound of meat?

How, when, and why to prepare a field for planting a specific essential crop? (Wheat, corn, cotton, soybeans, peanuts, tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce?)

How many gallons of diesel are required per acre for various crops? (Yields vary)

Like I said....this is long term neglect and intrinsic corruption allowed to grow unchecked.

Explain how President Trump would make money off farmers going bankrupt.
Same as last time, the BIG company's running out the little guys.
What this administration or ANY OTHERS MAY get?
political & $$$ Support for monopolizing & control of the market????
Any small farmers here? have any input?

These very stupid, and/or very misguided, voters will learn the hard way never to **** w/fascists.

Good luck getting their votes in the future Republicans.
Yeah, they are voting for Harris and Newsom next time so government can seize their farm land and tell them what they can plant.

Him? Not so much.

His contributors? Oh yeah. Easier to buy a forclosed farm than offer the farmer FMV for the operation. When you control more of the marketshare...you can raise the price with less fear of competition....

And do what with the farm? Go out of business since you claim farmers are all going bankrupt?

As with many Americans, I started cooking more at home during this prolonged economic downturn. I haven’t resorted to shopping for food at flea markets as some on the right have done but I am making a lot more at the house. Cans of soup, beans, spinach, peas...all up near a dollar or over; in some cases up around $2.00. Theres a reason for this. When there is less competition, prices go up. Even when there is competition, the prices seem to defy gravity as government regulators no longer seem interested in stopping monopolies.

And do what with the farm? Go out of business since you claim farmers are all going bankrupt?
Well, if you’re Monsanto or ConAgara, you just ensure that the acreage you purchased remains unplowed so the supply stays static and you continue to make money. A company like MonSanto or ConAgra has the reserves to sit on untilled land. The family farm does not. They have to grow every year, sell every year, and hope to make a profit every year. Since the blob shuttered USAID, all of the contracts these farmers had with the government were terminated and the reciprocal tariffs placed on US Exports hurt them as well. This is 100% Trump’s fault.

As for the corporate farms...If we ever start exporting things again, you’re positioned to plant crops and export goods. Meanwhile The farmer you ran out of business is on welfare and pieces of shit like you are calling him lazy.

“We’ve had 259 filings in the United States so far this year,” Loy said. “And that’s just through the first quarter of this year.”

I know this will be blamed on the Biden Administration. So my question is this: On what date does Trump take responsibility for the economy during his Presidency?
Yes the first qtr is directly related to last year

Thank YOU 47.

No. Biden will get blamed up until the 28 election. Biden and Harris didn't have trouble blaming Trump after more than 3 years in office
And now you will claim that Trump will act like Biden, since Kamala is not really important to the system.

She is important enough to you since you voted for her. You will vote for her again if by chance Democrats are dumb enough to run her in 28.

Lies. The market is stellar. Thanks Trump.
So stellar yet another round of bailouts for the farmers….

Care to explain?

The real losers are the farmers who didn’t stick it out long enough for another round of free shit..
