I suspect the Democrats and socialists would prefer Trump to be the GOP candidate.

As for myself, Liz Cheney would be an outstanding candidate as she actually represents what true conservatism is. And that means she would not have a snowball's chance in hell of getting nominated by the toxic waste dump of what used to be the Republican Party.

When Trump was new in politics he was amusing and different. Lots of people were infatuated with him.

Today many people see more clearly that Trump is a loud-mouthed clown with no class and no common sense. He's poisoned the GOP but his sycophants refuse to see or admit it.
