What were their credentials? Did they have something on their bodies that identified them as press?
I think not.
I agree...And IF the media was really doing their jobs [The Fourth Estate], and the perception of them being political shills? We wouldn't have these problems. I wonder though, If this will cause the 'FourthEstate' to re-examine their true purpose a-la the First Amendment? What were their credentials? Did they have something on their bodies that identified them as press?
I think not.
You're referring to a 'press pass'. Depending on the event and the venue, they're easy to get hold of. You don't necessarily need to be a professional journalist to get one. You just contact the venue or event organizers and ask them.
Real journalists - the ones who have a degree, and work for an actual media outlet instead of some dumpsite - they have their own credentials; issued by the media outlet they work for, they are also usually members of a professional institution which may also provide them with credentials.
This explosion of unprofessional hacks in the industry might be convenient for hacksites, but it is very damaging to the profession. More's the pity.... they're destroying what was once a well respected and honorable profession.
They were creditialed jouranlists.
