Israel to Sign Accord with U.S. Over Arms Sales after China Row
By AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE, JERUSALEM

Israel is close to signing a deal with the United States regulating arms sales after incurring Washington’s wrath over a defense contract with China, officials said June 27.

Defense ministry spokeswoman Rachel Ashkenazi said negotiations “to reach an understanding with the United States are at an advanced stage” after Israel effectively apologized to Washington over the controversial deal to upgrade Harpy Killer drones which it had sold to Beijing.

The Haaretz newspaper said the agreement will mean Israel having to renege on the drones deal, leading to the likelihood that China will demand multi-million dollar compensation for the second time in five years.

Finally some common sense with our Israeli foreign policy?

We need to stop viewing the Israelis through rose colored glasses. Their country is smaller than 46 of our 50 states. They are surrounded by muslim countries who would cheerfully wipe Israel off the face of the planet. The Jews have to take an extremely pragmatic approach to diplomacy and international relations to assure their survival. Sometimes they come off as downright treacherous, ungrateful and untrustworthy. Perhaps sometimes they are.

We also need to stop our blind and unequivocal support of Israel. When they subvert our national security interests, when they attack our ships, when they send spies to steal our secrets, they need to pay the price. Only when we make the Israelis cognizant that there is a price to pay for disloyalty and treachery will they finally begin to act like an ally instead of an opportunistic parasite.

Example--IF this had been an arab doing the killing, Israel would have used this opportunity to bulldoze some homes and bombed a few Hamas members. Both sides are guilty of being unwilling to seek a peace that is fair to everyone. No doubt other countries on both sides also exacerbate the problem by selfish meddling.

And what do we do to the libs for the exact same conduct?
