Certainly, that is why Addams became President after being VP, Madison went from being a representative to SoS to President, Monroe went from being governor to ambassador to President, why JQ Addams was SoS,Senator, Representative then President. I’m leaving out dozens and dozens of founding fathers who didn’t become President who spent much (if not most) of their lives in politics.
