Are conspiracies more accepted in todays world? I think so and that is a good thing.

Years ago if you discussed such theories people would look at you in an odd way. This has changed dramatically today.

This is a good outcome because it forces governments, institutions and companies to operate better. For judges to entertain possibilities one would only see in the movies in the past but now must consider.

The discussions of conspiracies when whispered among citizens in the East helped to push the old Soviet Union to change, they knew that their own citizens weren't happy, didn't trust the system they lived in. Today theories are shared loudly online allowing them to be debunked or for governments to be more honourable.

Its a problem when nonsense leaks into the real world. A prime example being RFK in charhe of the nations health. People are dying and will continue to die because of his crackpot ideas.

Once Dismissed as Absurd, Ronald Reagan’s “October Surprise” Is Now Confirmed as True

It’s not a conspiracy theory: Ronald Reagan secretly negotiated to keep the Iran hostages captive for an extended period to try to keep President Jimmy Carter from winning reelection.

if you're equating the situation in 1980 Soviet Union to contemporary Western democracies, then you're a ridiculous person

What's changed is that there is a discussion forum on the internet, now, with a category titled "Conspiracy Theories." Before that, you could make up your theory and share it with your friends who are not interested in politics, and it seemed like they thought you were weird, because they don't try to figure things out.

It does not do that. The checks and balances do not work as our civics lessons describe them to be. I am the only person to subscribe to this theory, and nobody is going to join me because they cannot figure out a more sophisticated system to force the government to operate better.

I am going to need more description for this.

The perpetual corruption is because all of the executive power is in the executive branch, and the subsequent bureaucracy lacks reliable checks and balances. The political party problem is because the legislative assemblies are generally commissioned, publicly elected, and unsupervised. The judicial problem is because the administrative powers are distributed among the three branches, and when the political contest in a legislature relatively stabilizes, it disseminates partisanship into the judiciary as candidates are dependent on partisan alignment for nomination and confirmation. The imperfect governing system causes political chaos that trickles down into society because that is why we institute government – to guide society… “most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

Conspiracies amongst humans are as common as bacteria amongst humans. That is especially true for humans holding power in government. Caesar and many others were assassinated as the result of conspiracies amongst their so-called friends.
