April 14, 1912, Was it The Titanic or the Sister Ship that sank?

This may sound like a rather stupid "Conspiracy Theory" but I submit that even looking at the case for the "Titanic" really being her Sister Ship, can give us a good idea of how far wealthy people may be willing to go to get money from INSURANCE COMPANIES....... or even better yet....... TAXPAYERS!

According to one theory, it wasn't the Titanic that sank on the night of April 14. Instead, it was her sister ship, the Olympic, which was swapped with the Titanic and sunk in a deliberate accident as part of an insurance scheme. The Olympic, you see, had been in two serious collisions within months of its launch; the damage was so severe that repairs would have been astronomically expensive.

Some theorists have suggested that White Star Line switched out the two ships, so the unblemished Titanic was sailing under the Olympic's name. The real Olympic, on the other hand, was left at the bottom of the ocean. This theory was most recently laid out in Robin Gardiner's book Titanic: The Ship that Never Sank?.

Another theory posits that rather than a terrible accident, the Titanic's wreck was deliberate. According to its proponents, three passengers on the ship — John Jacob Astor IV, Benjamin Guggenheim, and Isador Strauss — were opposed to the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank. (There's actually fairly little evidence to substantiate their feelings on the matter, but oh well.) Their deaths in the wreck supposedly smoothed the way for the establishment of the Federal Reserve Bank the following year, in 1913.

There are a few variations on this theory; in some versions, the men were opposed toincome tax legislation as well. According to others, the Catholic order of Jesuits or the plutocrat J.P. Morgan lured the men onto the ship and to their deaths.

I believe that this is a critical topic at this time because I am impressed by the theory that the damage that had been done to The Sister Ship to The Titanic made sinking The Sister Ship, [now with the name The Titanic on her], a great chance to take in insurance money. Voila..... a plan to change the name of the Titanic to the Sister Ship..... sink the Sister Ship.... and take in serious millions in insurance payments. [Plus get rid of several high profile passengers on "The Titanic" or on the Sister Ship?

Olympic: iceberg (right ahead!)
Britannic: German torpedoes
Olympic: scrapped in 1935.

The point though is that the name "Titanic" was taken OFF the real Titanic, and put on a Sister Ship to the Titanic. What would happen to the real Titanic, [that would now have the name of the Sister Ship on it], is actually irrelevant to the full topic here.
