But only for three hundred years,.. so it should stay around for the rest of our lifetimes then lol

Apparently The Earth Has Two Moons Now

Hardly. It is just a chunk of basalt chipped off from the moon flung into space during some large impact, and it managed to hitch a ride for a while in an unstable orbit before eventually being flung off into space. Far better than if it fell to Earth.

???
We have one moon
It came from the earth billions of years ago
. Without the moon : advanced life could not evolve

Indeed Moon and Earth are a double planet system. The material we found on the moon is the same we found on Earth. And this "second moon" or quasi-satellite is a kind of splatter. The object which caused this splatter did fortunatelly not hit our mother Earth. Kamo’oalewa is by the way a wonderful name.

The article didn't give the orbital parameters for 469219 Kamoʻoalewa ... so I looked them up and indeed these are given with respect to the Sun ... therefore, it orbits the Sun, not Earth ... at 0.9 to 1.1 AU with a period of 365 to 366 days ... it's too far away from Earth for Earth's gravity to have but small effect ... almost all Kamo'oalewa's motion is caused by the Sun's gravity ...
