Apparently, some people have had enough.

Like $25 per hour? Do people actually believe this is pay one should work hard for? It should be entry level pay with a $10 raise if one hangs in for 6 months. And the rising wages causes inflation stuff is lies.
So you would rather we send manufacturing where they can hire workers for six or eight dollars a day?
You really do not understand how the economy works. The employers has to pay social security, Medicare and unemployment taxes on top of your wages. Exactly how do you expect them to pay those costs? Hiring workers is one of the most costly parts of any job.
While other things do affect inflation such as the government printing money, transportation costs and such are all a part of causing inflation works salaries and benefits are also a part.

Pay should be based on value, not knowledge or skill. There are many jobs that require knowledge and skill that produce nothing of value. OTOH there are many unskilled jobs that produce substantial value.

So then we need less workers so the lower wage workers. You just proced we need a smaller workforce.

GOP lawmakers confronted by constituents angry with Trump-Musk cuts
Several Republican lawmakers have faced backlash from constituents in recent days over President Trump's sweeping cuts to the federal government, which have been spearheaded by the Department of Government Efficiency, a task force led by Elon Musk.

With the House in recess, many members of Congress have held town halls and attended other events in their districts this week, giving their constituents a chance to confront lawmakers in person to express their discontent about budget cuts and the layoffs of federal workers by DOGE.

Rep. Rich McCormick, a Georgia Republican, clashed with constituents throughout a packed town hall in Roswell on Thursday. One attendee pressed McCormick on why the administration was taking "such a radical and extremist and sloppy approach" to the layoffs, noting that the administration has tried to rehire some employees working on bird flu and the nation's nuclear weapons programs after they were fired.

I made the point in another thread that some POT (party of trump) members of Congress are being put in a difficult position. OTOH, they do not want to be seen as not being in lockstep with MAGA doctrine. I mean absolute lockstep, since we know anything less than total acquiescence is considered to be heresy by the MAGA thought police.

But now there's been some pushback by constituents. Buyer's remorse you might say.

These folks do not appear to be pleased.

As you may recall, it was these kinds of town hall meetings that cause the failure of the ACA's repeal effort by Don. Angry, angry voters holding their reps to account. Not that he had a replacement plan anyway.

You're dreaming....We voted for this....And you're providing the entertainment....

Pay should be something an employee negotiates with their employer ...
And should have nothing to do with government.

....

If you bring the government in as an arbiter ... Then mediocracy will be the result in all cases.
At that point it becomes foolish to suggest ... What should or should not qualify as appropriate pay.
Because you are already attempting to suggest ... The minimum allowable in regulation ...
Is worth anything more than the least in effort, skills or compensation.

People tend to embrace that stupid idea ... Yet they don't understand it is based in accommodating ...
For less of everything ... Including pay, production, innovation and any acceptable standard of living.

....

You see ... What you want is not better at all ... It's just your desire to believe the government can provide you ...
With something you don't even deserve.

Add the fact that if you raise the minimum ... In regard to the least amount of effort, skill and responsibility ...
Then anyone doing more and having more of those things ... Will also get a raise or they won't do it.

So ... You will never get rid of the 'gap' that way ... And the 'minimum' will always want more ...
In attempts to believe they deserve ... Something they can neither provide nor account for.

....

Seriously ... If you want to get paid what you are worth ... And you want to make more money ...
Bust your ass ... Make connections in the field ... Get certified in skills through your current occupation or on your own ...
Seize every opportunity you come across to improve your value to the employer ...
Meet with your employer ... Or apply for another, better job ... Stop waiting for the government to fail you yet again ...
And demand all the market will bear in pay from your employer ...

Otherwise ... Understand you have nothing to barter with in that market ...
And you screwed yourself looking in the wrong place for answers.

And ... You will also probably be dumb enough to think ... That voting for government controls ...
Was actually ever really in your best interests.

Some of the people have had enough ... Enough of the same old stupid crap ...
And the fools that continuously fall for it.

you said....Pay should be based on value, not knowledge or skill......now you going to change that?...
How much should a highly skilled and knowledgeable person who is unemployed be paid? An immigrant fruit picker is providing more tangible value. Even the value of our highly trained law enforcement can be called into question if crime isn't controlled.
