Apparently, some people have had enough.

“House Republicans are becoming weary and wary of in-person town hall meetings after a number of lawmakers have faced hometown crowds angry about the Trump administration’s push to slash government programs and staffing.

Party leaders suggest that if lawmakers feel the need to hold such events, they do tele-town halls or at least vet attendees to avoid scenes that become viral clips, according to GOP sources.

A GOP aide said House Republican leaders are urging lawmakers to stop engaging in them altogether.”

Republicans have always been cowards – they fear the will of the people.

And like true authoritarians, Republicans will hide behind the walls of power and blindly pursue their failed, wrongheaded agenda.
jones you dont reply to people asking you questions about the bullshit you throw up...what wall are you cowering behind?...

Those "angry" people showing up at townhall meetings are paid agitators being hired on Craigslist.

I've heard that a lot of the waste fraud and abuse is going to red states. We all know that red states take more federal tax dollars than they pay and blue states tend to pay more than they get. So I love it that the cuts are hurting Republicans mostly. Fuck em. They asked for this.

There are a lot of federally funded green jobs in Red states. I can't wait till Trump bankrupts them when he cuts them off. He's certainly not going to fund green technology. Even Reagan took down the solar panels Carter put on the White House.

Many Republican-led states are seeing a surge in clean energy jobs, and are leaders in renewable energy deployment. This includes states like Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Georgia

Yup..I know about crowds for hire..now show me where these companies are being hired to attend Republican town halls?
Oh, and just where does Soros come into all this?

Not sure if getting expenses paid is quite the same thing as outright hiring bodies to show up..but i can certainly see how it can be spun that way.

Like..if some of the Jan. 6 guys got gas money and a meal were they 'paid to protest'?

No, the January 6 protest was a "grass roots" movement. There were political action committees that funded the protest and paid expenses to people could travel there. But among the 80,000 or so people there, I haven't found any evidence that people were being "paid" to protest.

I think we agree here...as both sides' people pool money and resources for trips, gas and food, etc.
Democrats can be 'grass-roots too, ya know.
No-where have I seen even a hint that people are being paid to protest at Republican Town Halls.
That's clearly all spin.

..and then they bring out Soros...like they're invoking Satan or some such thing~

The protests are totally bogus and fabricated.

The secret behind the anti-DOGE protests that have Republicans rolling their eyes: ‘Give me a break’

"The sudden uptick of angry protesters at normally quiet Republican Congressional town hall meetings and Tesla dealership surprised members of Congress last week, but new details show the left-leaning activist groups responsible.

Left-leaning groups Indivisible and MoveOn were at the center of the protests as they recruited activists to oppose billionaire Elon Musk's efforts to slash government spending and enact reforms.

MoveOn Civic Action triggered a nationwide call to action during Congressional recess urging activists to show up at town hall meetings to remind lawmakers that 'Congress Works for Us, Not Musk.'

They also helped organize a 'Nobody Elected Elon!' rally in Washington, DC outside the Treasury department.

The group Indivisible urged activists to launch anti-Musk protests in their districts.

Indivisible has also helped coordinate anti-Musk protests at Tesla dealerships. Activists at local dealership are holding signs accusing Musk of being a 'Nazi' and condemning Tesla vehicles as 'Swasticars.'

Both groups have received funding from left-wing billionaire George Soros through the Open Society Foundation. "

There's Something You Should Know About All Those DOGE Protests in Red States

"The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative is facing a lot of backlash. But it appears that much of the outrage is manufactured...

...While some have expressed some valid concerns, a Washington Free Beacon report revealed that much of this Republican “resistance” is astroturfed....

...Maggie Goldman, one of those who spoke out against DOGE during the event, is not a Republican nor does she reside in McCormick’s district, according to the Washington Free Beacon...

...he report suggests that many of the protests that have been held at GOP town halls were started by two George Soros-funded organizations: Indivisible and MoveOn."
