Off until Jan 4th. Already had visitors. Even Republicans.

You know us rednecks we leave it up all year round :)

No tree this year for me, I'm headed to Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego on the 19th (After Star Wars of course), where we'll catch a ship to visit Antarctica, a lifelong dream.

no

my tree was up ...all through my childhood ....

now my father is dead

life is pointless without him

whatever

I love him ...still.....so much

I'm sorry, skye.

he was so much fun ... kind and loving ...to us all (sister and brother) smart ..handsome blue eyes blonde hair ..strong ..artist and business man ......sweet darling.... so handsome . love him so much... dead now...I will join him soon God willing

Put my tree up day before Thanksgiving decorate it that weekend.

That was a lovely and sad sentiment Skye. If I was your dad, I would have been beaming with pride over a daughter like you.

(((thank you kindly for your feelings ...thank you so much))))

He would want you to remain here. Thought the same about my Dad. Still miss him, but it gets easier. Been 25 years now, yet in some ways seems like yesterday. The great memories we had and knowing he is still in my heart makes it easier.
I'm sorry, skye.

I'm sure he wanted you happy. Some consider things we do a monument to those who went on ahead of us.

No pic to post, our tree is a bit taller and wider, but, we have a star on ours. Much more lights than yours but much less ornaments (and smaller ones....) I have not done any decorating other the tree, candles in windows and runners on our table w/ our Christmas cards......

no tree here....3 cats and 3 dogs...doesnt stand a chance...my father died on dec 21....many years ago....i couldnt image not having fun in his memory...simple as that...just a weird way to look at remembering your loved one...by denying yourself pleasure and joy? wtf? that attitude would just my dad sad.....it has been 34 years....the feeling of loss never goes away

I do not like the Holidays - any of them really - the pressure to do things, buy things, etc.
My normal everyday life is much more enjoyable.....

When the kids were little Christmas was fun because of their excitement and enjoyment - but now, meh.

15th post
damn bonzi...you would never stand being a pagan....we embrace all holidays....well most of us...

No, my Grinch pic was pretty accurate. I like to celebrate impromptu. I'm just a rebel at heart, in all ways apparently.......

Yeah but someone said the Grinch pic I had was creeping them out (Pete I think....)
