time to do some research......only a few big brands still make them. kenmore always made some decent products and they are still around

We've had our little Galanz for almost 8 years. Still going strong, although one of the filaments in the LED display blew earlier this year so 8 looks like 6, or 9 looks like 4....that sort of thing. But that hardly matters much to its operation. It still heats food, spins like a top and goes "BEEP" when done.

My Toshiba works wells.
toshiba? I last bought their SSD ages ago.....

they don't sell them at home depot or lowes so no idea where you can buy one now if you can

Probably the fuse in the microwave. Don't know where you would get that repaired. We had one go out about 30 years ago, but it was about 15 years old then. Sears fixed it for us.

We have a Samsung now and it is 8 years old.

My current unit is one that used to belong to a family member and so I have no idea how old it really is. I only know that it is at least 30 years old and it still runs well. :) :) :)

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. It belonged to an aunt that I used to have. I stayed with her during the majority of my freshman year of high school which was right after I moved here to east TN. She passed away in 2001 which was the year after I graduated. Her laugh is what I miss most about her.

I have two Panasonic 1250 watt units, one in each of my homes and we love them. True variable power settings. decent capacity, check'em out. It's not cheap but a great unit.

you are likely correct but the fuse likely is in the back
thus it has to be unbolted from the top, pulled off the rear bracket holder and likely the back needs tore off
it's fixable but it's going to take work......ugh

I'd need to pull up a PDF if you can even access the fuse, I don't think any company wants you to try and fix your own appliance these days

My grandfather was an electrician and he could fix anything......those days are kinda gone

I'm still using my original one ...

Raytheon model 1132.webp

where did you buy it? I have a small mom and pop shop but they sell LG and a few brands
local home depot mostly frigidaire like mine or GE as well as LG and samsung

that's pretty much their only offering

I might just get the same model, contractor put it and the mount holes are already drilled, rear holder plate is installed

any other brand new holes in my cabinet above and a new backing plate

nothing is really universal now, every brand makes their unique, you can't plug and play very well

I bought mine from Walmart, they have several Panasonic models as well as other brands.

6 years? Geesh. My wall-mounted GE microwave has to be 25 years old, gets used all the time, and still works like new.

Might just be a blown fuse inside. Probably a fried magnetron. That's the thingamabob that creates the microwaves. You can replace those yourself.

I used to swear by Panasonic products. They made great radios at one time. They also used to make great sweepers. They used to make a killer TV under the Prism brand (but stopped calling them Prism because no one knew they were Panasonic).

Then in 2008, I bought a Panasonic DVD recorder. Turned out to be the biggest piece of crap I ever owned. Designed terribly from the remote on down. Then I bought one of their trimmers a few years ago. Goofy-ass POS.

Will never buy a Panasonic again, the brand seems to have really gone downhill.

Oh, a word about Walmart. Nothing Walmart sells is available in any other store. Check the serial numbers--- it may be the brand you know and may look similar, but every single appliance sold by Walmart is a special model made by the company just for Walmart. They are some other model that the manufacturer tweaks (usually by removing some feature) to meet Walmart's price point.

That is how Walmart beats other companies prices.

Every time I buy something because it was on someone's Top 10 Best list, it turns out to suck.

More often than not, the people compiling those lists are reviewing products provided free to them for review.

If they give a bad review, they will never get free stuff from that vendor again,

Most of the big box stores have their own model numbers unique to them. They do that so they don't have to price match. And when it comes to TVs I've had really good luck with Visio, I have a 21", 32", 50' and a 65", I have nothing bad to say about them. My oldest Panasonic microwave is about 10 years and the newest is about 5 years old, they work as advertised every time.
