Social Security News: $250 Economic Stimulus Payment Questions And Answers
Yes, those who get SSI are getting a stimulus check next month from ... you guessed it Obama. I didn't like the first one any more so don't go accusing me of going after anyone with this (other than Obama). This is the part I still have problems with:
"Does the payment to Social Security beneficiaries come out of the Social Security trust funds? No. The Act says that these payments come out of appropriated funds."
Now, Bushes was recollected from the taxpayers who received them in a manner of speaking, but does anyone see a benefit to this in any way? I see it as just a handout with no possibility of offering a return, other than the money going right back to those who already gave it to the government in the first place.
Also on an added note, since I was on Social Security and use state funded health insurance still (long story) I am also getting a check, but I am not turning down free money, I just don't see why.
