A Texas Democrat lawmaker has been exposed for following several porn stars, prostitutes and OnlyFans models on his Instagram page.

James Talarico, 36, who is a seminarian and state House member, was found to have followed several X-rated accounts in a report by Axios.

The four-term state representative, who is running for US Senate, is a Presbyterian seminarian who has made his Christian faith a key aspect of his political aspirations.


Talarico follows about 3,700 users on Instagram, including a handful of women who share explicit or suggestive content while linking to adult-oriented websites.

The report said that earlier this year he had actively liked multiple photos of an Austin Instagram account holder who has an OnlyFans and a page on an escort website.

He also follows Instagram accounts of adult film actors including adult actress Giselle Palmer, who goes by the name 'honky tonk angel' online.

His spokesperson, JT Ennis, explained why the Texas Democrat followed the women and said that Talarico was not the only person using the account."

At least, he's not as gross as that old Democrat looking at porn publicly on a passenger jet.

In fairness, I receive a voluminous or at least abnormally weighted number of likes and messages from females on Twitter. Some of which are illustrated with quite an attractive photo in their profiles, others I presume whom are bots to try and fool me into believing I'm not shadowbanned etc.

I won't follow someone simply because they are attractive but I can imagine many men might, especially younger and single. Perhaps as a politician even looking to have followers of a certain demographic in the hopes it helps them gain voters, I'm just surmising out loud.

The entire profile following issue is a potential landmine. You could follow someone and their profile might say "love my country, support the 1st Amendment and salute the troops". You might have an interaction or two with them and say to yourself "they seem like reasonable, solid people, I will follow them".

Two months later they change their profile to something radical or unrelated to the projection they presented in their profile when you initially chose to follow them. A bait and switch per se.

I'm don't know if this happened to this politician but it is very easy to misrepresent someone or even discredit them via such nefarious methods and one should never jump to conclusions due to the manner in which social media operates. It's simply not a reliable means to measure someones character outside of their own personal posts (and even those may be misconstrued).
