The problem is ........... the police are CORRUPT and LAZY!!!
Most of them are nothing more than self-serving ego maniacs, looking to bolster their egos any way they can.
And that includes getting a job as police, where they can kill, maim, destroy, and harass at will.
If the police departments were honest, hard working, professionally trained, and happy to be of service.......citizens would feel a lot better about NOT having to personally protect themselves.
But thats not the case.
Why does it take so long for the "police" to show up? If at all? I've had two instances in my life where I needed to call the cops, and they NEVER showed up.
1. A legitimate police force is supposed to staff enough officers to take care of the whole town/city. This means that the hired police force is supposed to have 1/3 of the staff of the towns/cities citizen count. So if a town/city has 20,0000 citizens, the police force should have at least 6,600 officers on the rotation around the city. They do not. There is about one cop for every 5,000+ citizens in most cities......or less.
2. Corruption. This just doesn't mean the ones being used as political puppets and goons, it also means those who are only hired because they want ego trips and to harass people for their own whims. And those who are constantly "on break", or just sit there in their cruisers on the streets WATCHING CRIME HAPPEN, and do nothing. And of course entire departments of cops that are never seen until the last week of the month, then they are wobbling their way out of the donut shops to get their quota of tickets.
If We The People don't take care of ourselves, nobody it going to.
3. Corrupt politicians. If you have a corrupt city council and mayor, your police force is going to be nothing but a Goon Squad. As is the one in Plano, Texas and surrounding areas. They are nothing but a waste of tax dollars, and should be executed for treason against the tax payers and other citizens.
4. What honest cops there are, are very few and rare to find. Unfortunately they can't be everywhere, and the police departments make thier lives a living hell unless they become corrupt. So many of them tend to quit after a year or two and get a public job somewhere. I've known too many people in my life who became police officers because they wanted to help people, and were treated like shit and harassed untll they either became "one of them" or quit. So they quit.
5. And it takes them a long time to get anywhere or do anything, because they just don't care, they aren't ready for work, they are lazing around someplace and then have to get ready, or they are sitting in their cruisers someplace where they can't be seen, hiding from work.
