While our government has been focused on DEI and CRT.....
China has been steadily growing it's R&D and scientific capabilities as well as their military strength.

I would say all China and Russia would need to do is figure out how to remotely disable our nuclear subs and then taking America would be a cakewalk. They can already shut down our grid and communications networks. And don't forget we have millions of Chinese assets on our soil all ready to drive a fuel semi under major bridges to shut down our interstates on a moments notice from the CCP. They have thought it all out while we work n disarming American citizens. Especially since NewYork, California and all the other states where democrats hold power would readily open their airports to Chinese military flights and lend all US military assets in their borders to the Chinese to use against Americans. Count on that.

The CCP is not laden with incredible stupidity the way the American government is.
America has succeeded in one thing on a Grand scale...becoming the worlds leading Idiocracy.

Well, in all fairness, the UK has done pretty good at it too.

Wishful thinking. Chinese civilization is over 5,000 years old. The USA a mere 300.
They're not the mindless rural country bumpkins most in the US still think they are.

How would you "upgrade" our forces? We are the only "super power" without hypersonic weapons capability. We ARE falling behind.

The United States is playing catch up with Russia and China, which have already demonstrated hypersonic weapons that can fly at speeds of more than Mach 5 and are maneuverable. The Air Force, Navy and Army among them has six programs in the works but none has come to fruition.

My "pessimism" is unfortunate, but based on current events, history and reality.

We could try to upgrade our forces, but reality is that we have willfully gifted China with the ability to out manufacture us the same as we did Germany in the 30's and 40's. Our leaders have handed our secrets to China with nothing more than a hope and a prayer that China would join the West or at least become friends. Total failure. Worse than failure. And with the current apathy of too many US citizens, many would be willing to destroy us from within.

You may (or may not) live in an area where you are exposed to so many who either don't give a shit, hate America outright or are too stupid to know the difference. But in most major population centers there is a LOT of it.

We're not in a good place in terms of industry, military, military personnel, assets or the will to fight. China knows this.
I think many are overly optimistic about Trump and what they are hoping the next 4 years will bring. It will largely be more of the same.
Without unthinkable and extreme measures, our society is poisoned beyond repair.

Increase research and development and stop hiring chinese nationals in sensitive positions involving national security
