There is no age restriction in Federal Statute regarding who can own or possess a long arm and ammunition.

Why is it a citizen's duty to do a background check? The responsibility falls to the felon, who already knows they are not to purchase firearms. To put that onus on the honest citizen is unrealistic, and an undue burden. Only the felon can be responsible for the actions of the felon. Stop trying to shift that blame to everyone else.
