1. Did he say there were no undercover FBI agents when the riot started?
2. When did he send the 274 plain clothed FBI agents there?
3. Do we know who they were (were they in any pictures)?
4. Were they participating in the "riot"?

To me, Jan 6th was a demonstration that developed energy and turned stupid. It was certainly not an insurrection (no guns, gas, or grenades). It just got out of hand. And those responsible for protecting things were way to slow to respond thus leaving an understaffed group to try and manage it. Some of whom were severely hurt.

It is inconceivable that the Director of the FBI would not be informed about the deployment of 274 agents. FBI has about 20k employees total. Half of them are administrative and technical. There are over 50 field offices, so that's about 200 agents per field office. We're talking about an entire field office with contributions from others. Such a thing would surely have to be approved by the Director.
