Trump has yet to recommend much less do ANYTHING that has taken funds away from any American who needs those funds. Cutting waste, ineffectiveness, inefficiency, incompetence, fraud out of the budgets makes it far more likely that those who actually need help will be able to get it.

And he won't be applying the stupid DEI standards used by the Biden Administration and/or deliberately overlooking any right wing people when they evaluate who needs help and who doesn't.

FEMA has always been inept at giving emergency supplies and getting roads open because .... it's not really its job. FEMA doesn't have the equipment, and even if they did .... how can you get semi tractors to a disaster site. You can't, or not until the roads are open.

They stockpile emergency supplies, but it's up to the Natl Guard and states to deliver them.... and FEMA is at most a hinderance when they try to micromanage that .... Fema will help rebuild. See, Rolling Fork, Miss. (although I'm not sure rebuilding that was such a great idea considering there aren't employers in Rolling Fork.

I did find it odd that FEMA offered to buy a chainsaw for me after Katrina. I passed an bought a pole cutter attachment at home depot for my gas weed eater.

I've been through two (and a half) natural disasters. Two first hand experience and one close by.

Fema was of minimal help in either of the hurricanes beyond perhaps supplying tarps to church groups.

Both in Charlie and Ian it was Church groups that tarped the roof of my folks house for free. It was church groups that provided free meals while the power was being restored. Fema did provide trucks of ice.

When Joplin was hit by a EF-5 tornado, the surrounding communities and the State did most of the heavy lifting.

My take: I don't think Trump's and Musk's goals are as much to take over the country, as they are to destroy it. They are also taking apart all the departments that can contain a major epidemic. And the FAA.

Yes, they are allowing the rich to be able to swindle people, and unlimited power for the rich. They can take the money and flee elsewhere.

I don't think they can hold on to power forever.

Rather the US is being set up to become a failed state, and possibly a civil war. All the steps are weakening the US, not strengthening it.

When the US was thriving, say 50s to 70s, they welcomed immigrants and invited them in to work in science and development. The middle class thrived because taxes were huge for the rich. That was the "Golden Days of the American Dream" (my words, I haven't read it anywhere, although someone else could have thought up the same phrase).

Now the US is being set up to have a tiny middle class. Not sure how similar it would be to Tsarist Russia, because the circumstances were very different.

Anyway, who would benefit from this is the other two superpowers: Russia and China.

Musk actually has some ties to China. The US is being set up to become the weakest superpower in the near future.

I don't care about the Democrats or Joe Biden, but they certainly didn't do what is happening now.

However, I do think the Democrats share a lot of the guilt. None of them as far as I know took any steps to reform the justice system which allows rich people to get away with a lot of things.

They just expected things to go on as they always have. Plus they are also rich, so they could care less about corruption.

Not to mention electoral reforms, people were taken off the roll for no apparent reason, other than where they lived. Really, the whole system should be revamped from the ground up.
