The number of people killed and wounded continue to be added to the ever-growing record-setting year of gun violence / murder in Chicago this year..... Year to date, 2,497 people have been shot in Chicago, with 375 shot and killed and an additional 43 citizens murdered by other means.

....and Americans 'wait eagerly' for the Obama news conference addressing the issue...that will NEVER come....

After all, you can't politicize gun violence when it's in 'Rhambo's neighborhood!

Good thing they have tight gun laws in Chicago. Otherwise the poor bastards who are preyed upon by thugs might have a chance to defend themselves.

The poor may lack the economic means to defend themselves.
i.e.--buy a gun, bullets, gun cleaning kit, safety locks, etc.
Worst, they may lack the will to use their rights when called upon.

That is why 'the bad guys' set up shop in poor neighborhoods. Poor people are easier to intimidate.

Good question...another one is HOW is it going to stabilize. There are so many gangs and criminals there I almost see no other way that to bring in the National Guard to work in conjunction with the police to crack down.

These people would have been important if they were all shot by the same guy at a school.

They should matter but in fact, gun deaths are so common in the US, people don't pay much attention any more.

But there are not "tight gun laws" in METROPOLITAN Chicago. I don't know why RWs can't understand that a "gun law" on one side of the street has no impact on the laws on the other side of the street.

Chicago is not at the top of the list of gun violence. One article I've read puts it at 21st in the nation.

Why would the president hold a news conference about what goes on in Chicago when the same thing happens in every major city in the US? Gun violence, murders, deaths are so common in the US, if he held a news conference for them, he would never have time for anything else.

There was a shooting in Belgium - THAT is news. Here in the US, its just another normal day.

WHY would the President hold a news conference? Because he's sick and tired of the gun violence, of Americans being killed of course. Why WOULDN'T he take the opportunity to politicize gun violence happening in the same place over and over every weekend, every day?

Unless he doesn't give a damn about victims in Chicago, because those shootings have been accepted as part of the norm now, because he doesn't want to cause problems for Rham Emmanuel, and THOSE shootings doesn't fit his narrative / agenda?!

I thought ALL lives matter, LN?! If Obama is truly tired of gun violence and murder, instead of throwing a fit over random occasional school shootings why doesn't he address the continuous, regular violence and murder going on constantly in Chicago?! We can't anticipate where the next school shooting is going to happen, but you can safely bet that at least 5 people and double-digit more are going to be shot EVERY weekend in Chicago!

He has repeatedly spoken about the incredible numbers of people shot/killed by guns. If President Obama did comment on Chicago, you RWs would whine that he doesn't care about other cities where more shootings occur. And of course, you would say he is meddling in states' affairs.

It really doesn't matter what he does or says - you won't like it and you WILL lie about it.

Unless it's a white person doing the shooting and blacks are the victims. That warrants the attention of the President and every other race pimp around.
