Introduction

The man who attacked Paul Pelosi, the husband of Nancy Pelosi, was just sentenced to life in prison. One of the most bizarre hoaxes we’ve ever seen was built around this attack on Mr. Pelosi, and it is my intention to show just how bizarre and stupid that canard was. Many here still subscribe to it, and will skip this topic because it is hard to accept oneself was so easily rooked.

And that’s fine. They will never admit their credulity. But they know in their hearts they were duped.

The intention of this topic is to delineate how critical thinking works, which can lend a framework to deconstruct any future hoaxes.

Critical thinking skills have been nearly made extinct in this time where every mendacious jackass has access to the entire world from his couch.



There is an aphorism which goes, “A lie is halfway around the world before the truth gets its pants on.”

This is a variation on a theme written three centuries ago when the fastest communication was by sailing ship. In today’s modern world, a lie travels all the way around the world thousands of times before the truth can get its pants on.

Even more disadvantageous is that a lie can be created in a few seconds, while the debunking of that lie takes a great deal of time. Then another lie is quickly layered on top. And then another. And another.

After losing 60 court battles in which Trump’s legal arguments bore no resemblance to the lies he told in public to his followers, Trump finally resorted to summoning thousands of terrorists to the District of Columbia, then aimed them at Congress while he retreated back to the White House, whereupon they sacked the Capitol, wounded 140 men in blue, and five lives were sacrificed on the altar of the Big Lie as he sat idly by watching these events for over three hours.

No, really. Trump blamed his insurrection and his more than three-hour failure to act as people were dying…on House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi. I kid you not.



On October 28, 2022, a mentally ill man acted on Trump’s deflection of blame with the intention of torturing and possibly murdering the person second in the line of succession to the presidency to get a confession out of her.

Without it even occurring to this maniac to Google the House Speaker’s current location, David DePape smashed through the glass of a backyard patio door at the Pelosi home with a hammer, around 2:00 am, and entered the domicile.

The intruder woke Paul Pelosi and asked, “Where’s Nancy? Where’s Nancy?”

Keeping his wits about him, knowing the best way to deal with a wild animal is to be soothing toward it, Mr. Pelosi remained calm and called 911 with the mentally challenged invader’s consent. At one point, DePape even gave his name to the 911 operator.

If you are wondering why DePape was stupid enough to volunteer his name to the 911 operator, remember he is just another Trump worshipper and that hundreds of such people livestreamed and selfied themselves sacking the Capitol and attacking police officers.

Trump followers are not the brightest bulbs, folks.

The police were dispatched and Mr. Pelosi and the hammer-wielding DePape answered the door. Within moments, DePape bashed in Mr. Pelosi’s head, which was caught on a police body cam.

The hatred of MAGA propagandists obeying Dear Leader’s dictum against Nancy Pelosi became so deranged and twisted, a malicious and libelous sex fantasy was created about her husband, an innocent 82-year-old man. I forget which fake news MAGA network it was, but the gullible folks on this forum posted a report which cited a “Former CIA Analyst” who explained the intruder could not have broken into the house from the outside since some broken glass was on the outside. Therefore, DePape must have been invited in and the glass broken from the inside by a mysterious third party.

These anomalous dots were connected to say that since DePape was invited in, and both he and the victim were in their underwear, it must have been a male prostitution thing, and DePape attacked Pelosi for not paying him.

Out. Of. Thin. Air.

For some reason beyond comprehension, this then required a third person to be present to break the patio door from the inside.

Back to the CIA analyst.

Considering some MAGA media outlets are currently being sued and have had nearly a combined billion dollars of fines levied against them for their prolific lies, that this guy was actually a “former CIA analyst” is up to you to believe or not.

Apparently, this ex-CIA guy, the bumpkins who believed him, and the propagandist network all acquired their sleuthing skills from childhood Encyclopedia Brown minute mysteries and poorly scripted TV procedurals.



Here’s the thing.

Using a professional in one field to lend false credence to a story involving a subject far outside that person’s area of expertise in this way is a classic example of a logical fallacy known as an Argument From Authority.

If a news outlet was doing an item about spy satellite photo interpretation during the Cuban Missile Crisis, a CIA analyst is exactly the guy you want to interview.



So, here’s the question.

Without any evidence, the MAGA media invented from whole cloth that both men were in their underwear.

This part displays in glorious technicolor this hoax was deliberately falsified. This was not a journalistic mistake. It was deliberate. This demonstrates the gaslighting of the rubes is ongoing and never-ending.

The foundation for this hoax was laid over decades. The viewing audience has been carefully and studiously brainwashed into the belief that no other news sources are to be visited, much less trusted.

From there, this insurmountable wall easily led to DePape having to be let into the house voluntarily by his gay prostitution client Paul Pelosi. This 13-foot wall made swallowing the rest of the fabrications that much more digestible.

I want you to consider something before I demolish this imaginary wall around the Pelosi house.

People keep promoting the concept that California is soft on crime but this is a 30 year sentence for assault and attempted kidnapping in addition to five years of supervision after he is released. He committed a seeious crime and this is a serious sentence I would suggest.

A common belief about today’s MAGA propagandists is that it’s all about the cruelty. However, the Fox News texts and emails released as part of the Dominion lawsuit reveal it’s actually all about the money.

The desire to believe is one of the most powerful psychological forces which leads us down a rabbit hole of impossibilities.

This phenomenon is buttressed by our refusal to accept we were fooled because we are not humble enough to admit we were so thoroughly and easily bamboozled.
