The breathless media reports it as ,"The death of the man who has laed Iran as the supreme leader for nearly 40 years plunges the country and region into chaos..."

I don't see how it does that. At least, not so far. He was 86 years old. Iran and its clerical theocracy were prepared for him to drop dead 5 years ago, no doubt, and succession isn't a new discussion, for them.

Now, word on the street is that the strikes killed a significant portion of the senior leadership, as far as the government is concerned. Whether or not that is true, the public dissemination of such information is meant for the eyes and ears of the Iranian citizens.

Israel and the US are all but begging the Iranian civilians to storm government buildings. Not tomorrow, per se, but the message has been sent loud and clear that this is part of the mission and will be encouraged even further, in the next few weeks.

Personally, I'm not against the religious maniacs that run Iran being eliminated. As this idea stands alone, in a vacuum.

But "can" doesnt mean, "should". And maybe what I want or care about sucks. What if my ideas are bad or misinformed? It needs to be put through the system.

Would the Trump administration's claim that Iran is weeks from refining weapons-grade nuclear material stand up, under scrutiny? I think the American people are owed this due process.

Iranians are happy after Ayatollah Khamenei's death was confirmed. Witnesses reported that loud cheers echoed throughout Tehran, with residents clapping in their windows and playing loud music.

TRUMP is a ******* unstoppable force dude.

Let's just be honest about that.

The Left, in 2026, are STILL kicking themselves unable to figure out a cheat code.
Trump has a bigger pair than Reagan. All these POTUS amateurs since Reagan were too interested in lining their own pockets with our money to ever take a risk like this. Trump has put his entire 2nd term and his legacy on the line to stop a murdering, raping evil regime, top that!

If this is true, it has massive implications for the future of the Middle East and the World, and indeed our own domestic politics.

Overwhelmingly positive implications.

And the Times of Israel is a pretty reliable source, usually.

If Trump pulls this off, he will go down as one of the best foreign policy presidents in American history.

Hell, he will anyway - but this would really place a capstone on his glorious career as Commander In Chief.

That said, this is all a huge gamble.

Let's hope it pays off huge with minimal or no American casualties/wounded.

Edit:

FOX News is describing the strike as a joint US-Israeli effort:

He is gone

Good

What happened Mohammad? Your Mullah animals got whacked while you were sucking them off.
Just giving you the facts Adolf you support ISIS and Al Qaeda, you talk like Trump a New York Mob Boss, you murdered a 87 year old man, big deal, and two Israeli pigs were killed overnight in a Iranian missile strike :ahole-1:

Yes Trump is president now, but by any definition he was definitely “stopped” in 2020

Was Trump “stopped” in 2020? Yes, he lost the elections in 2020 but Trump came back even stronger in 2024. Did he need that four years to develop and become a better candidate? Trump has done something no one in our country’s history has done. He ran for and won the highest office in our country without ever having held any other office before or even working in the government.
