When we think of the role that the Coast Guard plays in guarding international harbors and water routes in our world of black market narcotics and munitions trafficking and piracy, we see the strange peril in Earth's seas.

Our society is governed by globalization networking (i.e., eTrade) obviously driven by consumerism culture (i.e., Burger King).

The America's Cup is an international boat racing event that invites teams from various nations to compete on the world stage in what has become an exciting and prestigious event for aficionados and sports writers (and capital sponsors).

This water-based event is an antidote to the problems of criminal sea traffic that standard 'peace-promoting' tourism just doesn't seem to cure.

It's no small note that people across the world are talking in Internet chat rooms about general malaise and cynicism that we would otherwise expect globalization to solve. In this climate, we need endorsement-rich sporting events to do for modern age capitalism what the Olympics sought to shine through the bleakness of the shadow of Nazi Germany.

Such pseudo-political ideas reveal the human value of globalization-paranoia social art totems such as the Olympics-terrorism presentation Hollywood (USA) movie "Munich" (2005).
