Personally I think that 0% of Republicans would actually be interested in what ACTUALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE to have crime safety and democracy and freedom at the same time.

Essentially the right want freedom to do whatever they want to do, but not freedom for those who do things they don't like. Gay marriage, gay anything to be honest, for example. It's a clear case of "we should ban this".

Now they want to be "tough on crime". Oh, come on, the Republicans have been "tough on crime" for a very long time, and for some reason IT DOESN'T WORK. But when it doesn't work all they do is blame the Democrats.

As for trump supporters being in favor of a police state, I count their approval of the fascist direction the country is headed in under trump's leadership as the greatest shock of my life. Not to make a direct comparison, but I didn't think the kind of thing that happened in Nazi Germany or other countries taken over by authoritarian rulers was possible here given our long experience with democracy. What I've learned is, psychologically speaking, all societies are potentially susceptible to the siren song of a strongman during times of stress. "We" are no different. I thought we were.

Again - what you are advocating is to continue to do nothing, try nothing - just keep not prosecuting criminals, just keep releasing and re-releasing them to produce false crime statistics.

What a moronic comment. Trump DID solve the problem in DC by massive police presence and arresting the criminals. If DC did this, they would have the same results, but Democrats are soft on crime and don't care about murder, rape, larceny, carjackings. They blame it on housing or racism instead of the criminals.

What more could Trump have done in DC? The leaders there let criminals go, didn't arrest criminals. Trump comes in, shows them how to solve the problem and all you can do is complain that now there are TOO many police there?? You'd rather have people killed?

What Trump did showed what the solution is. Get the criminals and illegals off the streets.
