Apparently, the Democrats prefer a SCOTUS Justice that legislates from the bench to one who has an actual knowledge of the law...

The American Bar Association rated Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett “well qualified” ahead of the nominee’s hearings on Capitol Hill.

“The Standing committee confines its evaluation to the qualities of integrity, professional competence, and judicial temperament,” ABA Standing Committee Chair Randall D. Noel wrote in a Sunday letter to Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, the chairman and ranking member, respectively, of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“A substantial majority of the Standing Committee determined that Judge Barrett is ‘Well Qualified,’ and a minority is of the opinion that she is “Qualified” to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States,” the letter continued. “The majority rating represents the Standing Committee’s official rating.”

A conservative SCOTUS is simply the legislative branch of the oligarchs, the corporatist, the bigoted, read its history if you doubt.

This is why Trump wants judges as mindless, soulless, and un-Christian or unhuman as him. Nothing new here. It shows clearly how religion too can be simply a tool of power and not of religious values. Move on folks, hate for the other ain't going away any time soon.

"Few American institutions have inflicted greater suffering on ordinary people than the Supreme Court of the United States. Since its inception, the justices of the Supreme Court have shaped a nation where children toiled in coal mines, where Americans could be forced into camps because of their race, and where a woman could be sterilized against her will by state law."

As they should. She's an outstanding Judge. A Constitutional Judge. We need more just like her on the SC.

In two weeks this will all be over and Amy will go on to become one of our greatest SC judges. She'll more than replace RBG who was nothing more than a judicial activist. RIP.

Hit is liberal judges, not conservative ones. Liberal judges vote with their party and they are lock-step with each other. The actual law is secondary than their progressive agenda.

Then you agree that all the judges pushed through by McConnell who have bad ratings should be removed?

ACB is just AWESOME! Scummy pond water sucker
Mazie Hirono to Barrett: Have you ever sexually assaulted someone?

What?

Not the first question that would occur to anyone else to ask when interviewing a Catholic mother of seven, but Hirono’s prone to losing her mind during Supreme Court confirmation hearings. Remember two years ago when she said Brett Kavanaugh does not enjoy the same presumption of innocence on a rape claim as everyone else because he’s a judicial conservative?

Or when she asked American men — writ large — to just shut up for awhile?

She also took a cheap shot at Barrett by dinging her for using the anodyne term “sexual preference” in an answer this morning:

Sen. Mazie Hirono scolds ACB for using the term "sexual preference" when answering a question about Obergefell this morning, saying that the term is "offensive and outdated."

Barrett had to clean it up in an answer during Q&A with Joni Ernst because, of course, Hirono didn’t give her a chance to respond:

Guess who else used the very offensive term “sexual preference” at a roundtable this past May? Right — Democrat presidential nominee and two-time VP Joe Biden.
